Thank you for visiting our web site. I'm Becky Anderson and I
cordially invite you to come and visit The Fabric Shop, located in the
quaint river town of Pomeroy, Ohio. The Fabric Shop began when I was
only 9 years old. Of course it wasn't my brain storm; it was my mom's.
My mother and grandmother decided to make their love of sewing their
"business." In 1959, along with my dad they opened The Fabric Shop.
Since that time we have expanded from a very small one room store to a
more comfortable two-story building in 1961. We then moved again in
1987. Our present location is a three-story building on Main Street,
overlooking the beautiful Ohio River. Somehow the river isn't quite so
beautiful when it overflows its banks. Fortunately, when that happens;
family, employees, and friends faithfully come to our rescue to save our
merchandise by moving everything to higher ground. That's life in the
town of Pomeroy. Many people wonder why we have our store along the
river, but if you saw the wonderful view of the beautiful Ohio, you
would understand. We can look out of our front store windows and see
river traffic including many towboats, pleasure boats, and occasionally
even the Delta Queen.
How lucky I've been to have my Mom, Dad and Grandmother teach me rules
of good business. I am still learning everyday. I have always admired
how very honest and hard working they have been to make their families
and customers happy. I am hopeful that my new endeavor of advertising on
the Internet will help keep this third generation business going for
many more happy years.
